JÄMSÄ CUP 2025 TOURNAMENT RULES
NOTICE: The tournament organizer has not provided insurance coverage for the players. Each participant is responsible for securing their own insurance in case of injury.
The tournament follows the rules of the Finnish Floorball Federation with following extensions
1. GAME FORMAT
The tournament is played as a 5 vs 5 game. Games do not end due to a 12-goal difference.
2. GAME TIME
Regulation time
Game time is 3 x 15 minutes of running time. The intermission is one (1) minute. Teams do not switch sides.
The clock is stopped for goals, penalties, penalty shots, and at the referee's signal during stoppages. The final two (2) minutes of the game are played with effective time (clock stops during stoppages), unless the goal difference is greater than five (5) goals, in which case effective time is not used.
Penalty time starts once the game resumes after the penalty is issued.
The game should be restarted quickly, especially after goals, to help keep on schedule.
Timeouts
No timeouts are allowed during Saturday’s group stage matches.
A 30-second timeout is allowed in Sunday’s playoff games.
Overtime
If a match that requires a winner ends in a tie, a 3-minute sudden death overtime is played. If there is still no winner, the game is decided by a penalty shootout.
Penalty Shootout
Each team selects three field players, each taking one shot. If the score remains tied after three rounds, the shootout continues one shooter at a time until a decisive result is reached.
3. PARTICIPANTS
Players
Each team may use as many players as they wish in a game.
A maximum of 2 overage players ("Y-players") are allowed in U15 and 3 in U17. Goalkeepers are not included in this count.
Player rosters must be submitted before the tournament begins, and any Y-players (maximum one year older than the category age) must be clearly marked.
4. EQUIPMENT
Use of protective eyewear follows each country’s regulations. For Finnish teams, protective glasses are mandatory.
5. FORFEITS
A forfeit win is recorded as 5–0. A forfeit is given if:
The team does not show up at the venue.
The team is at least 5 minutes late.
The team has fewer than 1 goalie and 5 field players at game start.
If the game is played despite either or both of conditions 2 or 3 being true, the opponent is considered to have accepted the situation, and the match result stands.
6. GROUP STAGE RANKING
Team rankings are based on points earned: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss. In case of a tie in points, rankings are determined in the following order:
Result of the head-to-head match
Goal difference (goals scored minus goals conceded)
Goals scored in all games
Penalty shootout (sudden death, with rotating shooters)
Coin toss
